A series of photographs taken on accidental circumstances, capturing everything and nothing, just a glimpse of the moment. I would think people would usually discard photos that were taken by accident but I have always kept them.
I take pictures to capture a memory, a capsule that keeps a moment in time there forever. I believe that even pictures that we did not plan to take can unexpectedly reveal to you a memory.
I wanted to highlight the ever present need to be a perfectionist with creating art and the disappointment that comes with failure. Perfectionism stems from the fear of judgment and disapproval from others that stems from having high expectations and only receiving affection or praise when they meet those expectations as a child.
I think that it is important to unlearn the unhealthy habits that we have collected throughout our lives. I thought it would be meaningful to embrace accidents and imperfections for once.
Personally, it was still really hard to put out a work that isn’t well thought about and was not purposefully made with intention and was not really planned and well thought out. I also was very fascinated by the movement that the warped lights produced, capturing exactly how the picture was taken through the image itself.
